My photography career began with a digital camera and our dog named Little Bit. I had only used the camera to shoot a few snapshots of our life at that point, but it all changed when Little Bit was diagnosed with cancer.
We were told that with treatment, we could only expect another year and a half to two years with her. I realized we had very few photographs of her (and our young dog, Lyle), and that obviously needed to change.
I started photographing them on a regular daily basis and almost from the start, I became hooked on photography – so much so, that I enrolled in art school.
We cherished the time we had left with Little Bit, and had to say our final goodbyes twenty months later. It was during this time, I began photographing adoptable animals at a local humane society to support their marketing efforts. Working with adoptable animals had quickly become an important part of my life.
Today, I enjoy working with commercial and retail clients, offering photography and videography services both in and out of the studio. I am proud to continue helping adoptable animals find their forever homes.
Since I began working with these animals, I’ve photographed several thousand dogs, cats, and other pets, and I’ve published two books on the subject (Shelter Cats and Shelter Puppies, Merrell Publishers, LTD).
